Experiencing climate burnout? You’re not alone

Are you experiencing feelings of burnout in response to the climate crisis? Then you’re not alone.

Many of us working to protect the planet carry a quiet weight. We witness the damage taking place, we care deeply – and this can take an emotional toll.

That’s why we’re so thrilled to have hosted a podcast episode with three experts, dedicated to something we don’t talk about enough: climate burnout.

Whether you’re a seasoned conservationist, a weekend volunteer, or just someone who worries about the future — we invite you to listen in on a raw, hopeful, and healing conversation.

Our panel of experts for this podcast include Dr Beth Hill of Psychology For A Safer Climate, Amanda Lamont of Nature Based Resilience, and Kit Kline of Nature Based Therapy.

We’re proud to be creating space for these essential conversations. Because taking care of the planet should never come at the cost of our own wellbeing.

💭 We’re interested to know how you balance caring for the environment with caring for yourself? Please share your feedback with us on Instagram. We’d love to hear from you.

Latest news from Conservation Volunteers Australia: May 2025

We’re so excited to share some of our latest news from the month of May with you.

Expanding Urban Shade Forests in Australia

Did you know that cities experiencing the Urban Heat Island Effect can benefit from nature-based solutions to cool them and make them more resilient to climate change, while enhancing biodiversity? One of these solutions is the creation of Urban Shade Forests.

Find out more about how we’re expanding Urban Shade Forests in Australia, through a renewed partnership with Chevron Australia and the addition of premium fuel brand Caltex Australia.

Glossy Black-Cockatoos Need Your Support

The Glossy Black-Cockatoo’s population numbers are decreasing. Threats such as habitat loss, climate change, bushfires, and drought all have an impact.

These are an opportunity for everyone to experience what it’s like to be a conservation volunteer and to get involved in community action for nature. We hope you’ll join us.
