Take Action for Nature: Join Our World Environment Day Challenge 2025

This World Environment Day, we’re inviting you to step outside, reconnect with nature, and take simple, meaningful action for the planet – starting right where you are.

At Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA), we believe that when people connect with nature, they’re more likely to protect it. That’s why we’ve created a special World Environment Day Challenge designed to help everyday Australians make a real difference – from their backyard, balcony, or local green space.

Whether you’re a seasoned eco-warrior or just starting your sustainability journey, this is your chance to take part in a national movement that’s all about positive action, community, and hope.

What’s the Challenge?

The Nature At Home: 5 Simple Ways To Help Wildlife Thrive is a simple 5-day invitation to do something good for the environment. You can start on World Environment Day (June 5th) or anytime that week.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the daily themes:

    • Create a home for wildlife (think bee hotels and birdbaths)
  • Plant something native or pollinator-friendly
  • Lend your hands to a local volunteering event
  • Share your love of nature with your community

Each action is designed to be accessible, rewarding, and – most importantly – impactful.

Download Your Free Nature-at-Home Guide

To help you along the way, we’ve created a free downloadable guide packed with practical tips to support biodiversity and live more sustainably. Inside, you’ll find:

  • How-to instructions for building a bee hotel or birdbath
  • Native plant suggestions for your region
  • Composting basics
  • Tips on creating a pollinator-friendly garden

It’s perfect for individuals, families, classrooms or community groups who want to turn small patches of space into safe havens for wildlife.

Share Your Actions & Inspire Others
