#SeaToSource Moreton Bay

Welcome to #SeaToSource Moreton Bay, a project powered by Conservation Volunteers Australia aimed at empowering individuals and communities to take action on one of the world’s most solvable environmental issues – ocean litter.

Plastic litter is a big problem for Australia’s rivers, lakes and oceans.

We’re committed to reducing the amount of plastic litter entering our creeks, rivers and oceans and causing harm to the animals that call these places home.

Through the #SeaToSource Moreton Bay Project, everyone will have the opportunity to be part of the solution to plastic waste:

🐟 attending a community beach clean up event,

🐟 participating in our hands on practical Source Reduction Workshops,

🐟 training in citizen science litter data collection

🐟 or by completing our SeaToSource Plastic Waste Challenge on the free CVA app!

Activities and events are free to attend and we are also available for larger groups and schools to participate too.

The #SeaToSource Moreton Bay Project is proudly funded through the Queensland Government’s Community Sustainability Action Grants Program.

Can’t attend events on the ground?

We know that it’s not always easy to find time to volunteer with us, so we’ve created ways for people to take action anywhere, anytime. Everyone can take part and help build resilience and adaptation to climate change!

Take action from home with our two app-led activities available on our CVA Community app:

  • Contribute to cooling your neighbourhood by planting climate-resilient native species in your backyard or on your balcony with Nature Blocks.
  • Lower your household carbon footprint by participating in the SeaToSource Plastic Waste Challenge and cutting back on your consumption of fossil fuel-based plastics.
