Rewilding Fifth Creek, SA

Join us in rewilding Fifth Creek and enhancing Adelaide’s climate resilience! Conservation Volunteers Australia and Campbelltown City Council are restoring this vital urban waterway, which runs from Black Hill Conservation Park to the River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari.

Through the Rewilding Fifth Creek project, we’re replacing invasive woody weeds with a diverse range of native plants. This transformation will create a thriving 2.2-kilometre wildlife corridor, improving water quality, reducing urban heat, and strengthening the ecosystem’s ability to withstand climate extremes.

By restoring natural habitats and protecting waterway health, we’re not only supporting biodiversity but also mitigating the impacts of climate change—creating a greener, cooler, and more resilient future for both people and nature.

This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust under the Urban Rivers and Catchments Program.
