Because land clearing has put Australia among the top 10 most deforested countries on earth.

Re-connecting habitats

Our goal is to repair and create habitat networks across large, fragmented catchment landscapes.

Today more than ever, Australia’s wild plants and animals need more and bigger places to live. The devastating impacts of massive bushfires highlight the need to retain and build additional habitat, and to create connections that allow wildlife to colonise new areas. Creating green links across landscapes is also a key part of allowing animals and plants to migrate in response to climate change, as conditions change from place to place and movement becomes necessary in order for them to survive and thrive.

This campaign will identify a number of landscapes that are in need of reconnection at a large scale, and work towards filling the gaps with living linkages that allow for safe movement of native flora and fauna.
