The CVA Christmas Cleanup Challenge was a success!

Did you know that the equivalent of one rubbish truck full of plastic enters the ocean every minute?

This December, teams from businesses around Australia rolled up their sleeves and contributed to our #SeaToSource project achievements in a healthy competitive spirit, in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 13, 14, 17, Corporate teams of up to 10 participants battled it out to collect and sort as much litter as possible, with some surprising finds – from tyres to shopping trolleys, couches to plastic chairs.

Together 145 participants across Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane collected 502kg of litter, which included 21,883 individual litter pieces. What an incredible effort and well done to everyone who participated!

On the day, a winning team was announced for each location, and we’d like to give a special mention to the following teams:

  • Kuehne+Nagel – Melbourne winner
  • SouthTrade International (C.A.N.) – Sydney winner and team that collected the highest amount of litter!
  • Aon – Adelaide winner
  • Woodside – Perth winner
  • Kuehne+Nagel – Brisbane winner

We’re also excited to announce the National Winner is…. Kuehne+Nagel (Melbourne)! They will be receiving the coveted CVA Christmas Clean Up Challenge trophy made by our friends at Wathaurong Glass.

Here’s some images from the events around the country – congratulations to all involved!
