Tackle plastic pollution at the source

We need to tackle pollution at the source to reduce the plastics ending up in our oceans and beaches. That’s why Conservation Volunteers, through our #SeaToSource Nature Ambassadors Program, is dedicated to working with communities to help stop plastic pollution.

By avoiding using plastics in the first place, and transitioning to more climate and wildlife-friendly options, we can ensure a healthy planet and healthy people for years to come.

With the introduction of bold single-use plastic bans coming into effect this year across many states and territories, now is the perfect time to act. We want to work with communities to tackle plastic pollution at the source and to move towards a more sustainable future – one where reusable containers and clean waters become the norm, not the exception.

Those of you in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Hobart and Perth are welcome to join us for the first in a series of practical community workshops where we’ll hear from local community leaders about current initiatives taking place to reduce plastic litter in your city catchment areas.

Together, we’ll then identify the key opportunities in each local catchment area and develop a targeted community action plan to reduce plastic litter at the source.
