We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to lead teams of volunteers on our conservation programs, working in the Adelaide region. As a CVA Conservation Officer, you will be responsible for the safety, welfare and supervision of volunteers doing practical conservation work, ensuring our volunteers enjoy a positive project experience whilst working within the boundaries of occupational health and safety requirements. Our major programs include a range of practical activities to protect threatened species, repair wetlands, plant trees and maintain walking trails and the like. Our projects range from single day activities to larger projects of 10 days’ duration.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in working with community groups
- Full driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Knowledge and experience in the application of OHS policies and procedures
- A sound knowledge of practical conservation activities
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft suite
- Excellent people management and training skills
- Solid organisational skills including time management
For this role, we are seeking a person with experience in brushcutting, weed control and plant identification.
Preferably, candidates should hold Senior or Level II First Aid and have an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
This position would ideally suit a local candidate and preference will be given to applicants already living within the region.
