Head of Experience

What I bring to the table are research, analytical and creative skills to answer questions and solve problems, as well as proven capabilities in project management, leadership, relationship-building, and communication. I am a people person with a very strong work ethic and thrive best in an environment where I can work as part of a team towards a common goal and share my energy and motivation with others. I am also very flexible and adaptable and can work effectively in a wide range of environments.

My love for our natural environment, and especially our oceans, took me on an academic path around the world from Europe to the Middle East, and finally Australia, and specialise as a marine neuroecologist. I have spent the last 15 years studying the sensory systems of marine animals and better understanding how they perceive their natural environment and adapt to specific ecological niches.

While this path took me on an exciting journey, discovering the wonders our oceans and planet have to offer, it also allowed me to witness first-hand the impact our society has on the planet. Can you imagine being on a research vessel in the middle of the ocean, sampling new species of deep-sea fishes at 1000m, only to find plastic in their stomach? Or to dive on the Great Barrier Reef, in protected areas, and witness the devastation of coral bleaching events caused by climate change?

I have decided to put my academic career aside, and focus my energy and passion to helping our planet and being part of the change now. I believe that education, a change in our consumption patterns, a circular economy, and nature-positive actions, are key to reducing our footprint and help our planet.

To turn my beliefs into tangible actions, I co-founded and play an active role in managing The Gap Sustainability Initiative Inc., a charitable, volunteer-led organisation promoting sustainable living practices and behaviour change. I became a Climate Fresk Facilitator and educate individuals, in a fun and engaging way, on the fundamental science underpinning climate change. Most recently, I joined Conservation Volunteers Australia, aligning with their mission to empower all Australians to take simple yet powerful actions for nature.
