Eastern Barred Bandicoot at Woodlands Reserve

Volunteers recently arrived in Australia will have the chance to be part of ongoing works enhancing the habitat for one of our native eco-system engineers, the Eastern Barred Bandicoot (EBB), at the Woodlands Historic Park in Melbourne. CVA manages the Eastern barred bandicoot enclosure at Woodlands Historic Park, undertaking habitat restoration and enhancement with our community of volunteers, bandicoot monitoring projects and assisting in EBB reintroduction programs overseen by the EBB recovery taskforce and Zoos Melbourne.

Multicultural engagement activities allow recently arrived Australians to better understand and help one of our more illusive native mammals who are needing a helping hand to bring them back from the brink of extinction, and maybe get to see one of our shy striped bandicoots.
