Bushfire Recovery Events

In the aftermath of the recent bushfires across Australia, Conservation Volunteers has been asked by the Federal Government to coordinate the national environmental volunteering response to the bushfire crisis.

We already know that the environmental damage is enormous, with millions of native animals lost, many species under threat and massive areas of habitat impacted.

Conservation Volunteers has a proven track record of getting people involved in environmental restoration action and we’re working closely with many regional and community partners in affected regions to make sure people can be involved in the recovery. We expect that we will be providing access to thousands of volunteering opportunities for the significant work needed in the weeks, months and years ahead.

You can learn more about our Bushfire Recovery and Response here.

In many areas across the country we are still in an emergency phase, whilst other areas are only beginning to assess the losses caused by bushfire and plan for recovery. Volunteering opportunities will be limited in the very short-term – but there are ways that you can help! Below are current opportunities that you can get involved in. The level of interest from the community and offers of support has been enormous. Places on events are limited, so if an event is booked out please keep an eye out for other upcoming opportunities where you can get involved.
