I was born and raised in North Queensland where I swam in water holes, went on long horse rides into the country and took the rainforests and reef for granted. I have since developed a true appreciation of our amazing heritage, how fragile it is and how much it is under threat and its one of the main reasons I work at Conservation Volunteers Australia.

CVA people are committed and passionate with a strong sense of vision and purpose aimed at practical conservation activities. Education is also a key focus to which I can attest given the conservation learning I have been on since I joined the organisation!!

As CFO, I want to embed strong financial and governance frameworks which are underpinned by balancing short-term considerations and long-term vision and sustainability.  Critical areas are to ensure effective resource allocation between service delivery, sustainability and innovation; partnering with the community facing parts of the organisation to develop financial capability and insightful reporting.

Currently I am a volunteer committee member at a community organisation – Social Welfare.  Volunteering is something I have done for many, many years – something I really enjoy and highly recommend. Come and see what I mean by volunteering with CVA at an event near you.
