Green Gym is a nature-based health and wellbeing program operated by Conservation Volunteers (CV). Green Gym involves participants in practical conservation or food growing activities outdoors, with a focus on improving volunteers’ physical, mental and social health. At the same time, Green Gym participants are helping to transform community green spaces. Green Gym is a uniquely placed initiative blending community action, healthy lifestyles and sustainable green spaces.
The Green Gym Team Leader is responsible for the safety, welfare and supervision of Green Gym participants on practical conservation and/or urban food growing projects. A typical team consists of up to nine participants and one Team Leader.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in working with community groups
- Full driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Knowledge and experience in the application of OHS policies and procedures
- A sound knowledge of practical conservation activities
- Excellent people management and training skills
- Solid organizational skills including time management
Preferably, candidates should hold Senior or Level II First Aid, Defensive Driving certificate and have an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
