Green Gym – Darwin

Green Gym – City of Darwin Parklands

Green Gym is a fun and free outdoor program that improves your health and wellbeing by being active in nature while also helping the environment. As part of a small group you can join in practical conservation activities as you make a difference in City of Darwin Parklands. Green Gym provides healthy exercise outdoors in a social setting. Learn new skills and make new friends. Connecting with nature also has proven benefits to mental wellbeing – come along and try a free session. This Green Gym pilot program will take place at  East Point Reserve.

What’s Involved?

Each three-hour session starts with a safety briefing and session overview, followed by a warm up before getting into the day’s tasks. Mid-session you will have a break for refreshments and a healthy snack. Activities will continue until it is time to cool down before wrapping up the session. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the tranquil settings with a like-minded group of people as you go at your own pace – take it as easy or make it more challenging, it’s up to you!

Current Darwin Projects

City of Darwin Parklands – East Point Reserve:  Every Thursday morning 9:30am to 12:30pm for five weeks from 24th May.

Join us in the City of Darwin Parklands for some fun and gentle exercise outdoors as you help us restore habitat and improve the parklands of East Point Reserve.

Just 10 minutes drive from Darwin CBD, East Point Reserve is one of the largest reserves in the Darwin area. As well as providing an invaluable green space for a wide variety of recreational activities, the 200 hectare park is also home to an impressive range of plants and animals, from the leafy monsoon forest to the hundreds of agile wallabies. During our sessions, we will improve the area by removing weeds, keeping the beach clean, clearing and maintaining the walking tracks all while getting some fresh air, a bit of exercise and enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of East Point Reserve.

Our meeting point is East Point Beach car park (first car park on the left after you enter East Point Reserve – next to toilets and playground), or you can get a lift from us from the Darwin CBD.
